Stefanie Lotter

Stefanie Lotter is a social anthropologist and museum curator. Based both at the anthropology department and the South Asia Institute, she teaches museum, heritage and material culture studies at the School of Oriental and African Studies in London. She is currently researching heritage activism in the reconstruction process in Nepal after the devastating earthquakes of 2015 at several heritage sites. This research as well as her work on commemorative heritage tattoos and disaster memorialisation is part of the international, AHRC/GCRF funded project »After the Earthquake’s Violent Sway: The tangible and intangible legacies of an earthquake«.
